Michelle Elijah, LCSW

In-Network Insurance: BCBS PPO, AETNA PPO

I work with teens and adults on concerns including anxiety, panic, stress, perfectionism, grief, trauma, and relationship issues.

I have a background in the arts and incorporate creative and expressive approaches when helpful, particularly for self-regulation and trauma work. My clinical approach is relational and integrative, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), person-centered and mindfulness-based practices, psychodynamic therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I am also certified in Trauma-Informed Expressive Arts Therapy.

In sessions, I aim to provide a warm, supportive environment where clients can explore their experiences with openness and care. I focus on building trust, connecting through shared humor, encouraging self-awareness, and supporting meaningful change over time. My goal is to help clients develop a stronger relationship with themselves and move toward lives that feel more grounded and aligned.

I offer in-person sessions at our office in Chicago’s Fulton Market and virtual sessions throughout Illinois.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, weaving on my loom, chasing my toddler around, reading too many books at once, and going to estate sales.
